I love team teaching, there is really so much to it and it takes time to start working like a well oiled machine but it is so worth it...
I can understand the reasoning behind teacher titles…Head or Assistant Preschool Teacher, however, we must all have the same care and concern about children when we are in the preschool classroom.
I love to be on the floor the kids. I mean the floor-floor. I am the ‘baby’ or the ‘sister’ and I have to do the “voice”…. I am in character and everything.
The preschoolers will even try to stuff me in a box or something.
Mind you….this intense pretend play is no where near possible without the cooperation of another adult supervising the room.
Every now and then I get out of character to come to a preschooler’s aid or assistance, but I have to say it is a pleasant experience.
I have tea time, had gotten chased by silly lions, ate mountains of pizza and all the ice cream I could ever want and never gained a pound, took five 'naps', was burped twice, and told I “I love you” 12 times.
All before lunchtime……
Now when is the last time you really had a day like that?

I don't get more than a few scattered moments like that each year (I must play the adult with 31 kindergartners almost all the time) but at least I do know exactly what you're talking about here, and I enjoy taking leave of the "real" world of reality and entering into the equally real and fully captivating world of fantasy play.
In Early Childhood Education, I have no where near as many kids as 31...and with medically fragile, & at risk, it's even fewer.

Wow! I can agree with you that teaching preschoolers is lots of fun and it keeps you young. I enjoy hearing my students say they love me and that I am their mother. I have two children that I gave birth to but each school year I am the mother to 24-36 children. I teach 2 half day classes so I only have my students for 3 hours each. It is hard to get all the things I want to do with them into those 3 hours so we stay busy the entire time.
