The Honorable Mention: Poetry About Children

Of all the needs (there are none imaginary) a lonely child has, the one that must be satisfied, if there is going to be hope and a hope of wholeness, is the unshaken need for an unshakable God.

Barbara, I just love this quote and of course Maya Angelou knows about a broken heart oh so well. I certainly agree that being whole and takes an unshakable relationship with a God we can relate to.

As a child I suffered trauma and lots of abuse and it made me shy away from people. I did not see relationships with people as safe. I think what Maya is saying (at least to me) is that having unshakable faith in God can give anyone the hope of wholeness.

For me that is absolutely true. Of course lifeskills 411 and the You Are a CEO program played a critical role but nothing like the mercy, grace and gift of unshakable faith in God helped me get over the past and stop dragging the rocks around.

I would love to help anyone of any age have this hope, faith and courage to live a live of love and laughter.

Good luck with the Intello-Kid program. I think what you are doing is amazing and you have my full support.
