A Beautiful Discovery

"The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart."
~Elisabeth Foley

How often do we encourage friendships in our kids? Sure, it's really easy to separate everyone during an argument or a fight...or go in different corners...that is, till the next round.
But what about talking it out...I mean, finding out what kids are really about?
Maybe, just maybe...if it starts with us.....it may occur to start with them.

The older I get, the broader my definition of "friend" has become. I like to think of everyone, yes, everyone as my friend.

Mr. Rogers (remember him?) had that sort of definition for his neighbors. Pretty much anyone he met. That's how I like to regard people I meet: as friends. (True, some friends are easier to get along with than others, but I'm friends with everyone I meet, even the bugs.
